If you study demographics or know the best available data sets and adjusted figures for your country, region, or city, this project can use your help.
What we're looking for:
Sourcing
Pointing us to the most reliable data for your country or region, especially sources that aren't well-known outside local research communities. Official statistics, academic studies, government reports, historical census records.
Corrections
If you think our numbers are wrong or that our projections for a given country are flawed, we want to know. Every national timeline publishes an auditable trace for each anchor year, so our work is easy to inspect and correct.
Methodology review
The full methodology is published here. We welcome all constructive feedback.
Original estimates
If you produce your own demographic estimates or have access to unpublished research, we're interested. All contributions will be credited.
New metrics
The site currently tracks ethnic composition as its core metric, but the project's scope is broader. If you can point to data for the metrics listed below, or propose others we haven't considered, reach out.
The following are metrics we intend to add:
- Fertility rates by ancestry group
- Age structure by ancestry group
- Yearly immigration numbers by country of origin, including illegal immigration estimates
- Share of population by religion
- Net fiscal contribution by ancestry group
- Crime rates by ancestry group
If you have data, sources, or expertise relevant to any of the above, or if you think we're missing something, get in touch.
